I’m reminded of the line from Mickey Singer’s book The Surrender Experiment:
"if the natural unfolding of the process of life can create and take care of the universe, it is really reasonable for us to assume that nothing good will happen unless we force it to? .... Am I better off creating an alternative reality in my mind and then fighting with reality to make it be that way, or am I better off letting go of what I want and serving the same forces that managed to create the entire perfection of the universe around me?"
I can’t think of anything more Irish than taking the Jesuit Priests money and losing it on a horse at Cheltenham 🤣. Probably a good job you lost it as you might have got carried away and become a bookie, rather than an author 🤣
Wonderful. Thank you Patrick.

I hadn’t come across that quote or book before, William. But it’s fantastic. So very well put. Thanks for sharing it.
Loved your first Substack post Patrick!
